We want this site to be usable by everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or reduced-motion settings. That matters more than usual here, because some people arrive on this site because they are being chased for money, and a site that is hard to use makes a stressful situation worse.
What we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 at level AA. We are not claiming full conformance: we have built to that standard and test against it, and we list known gaps below rather than pretending they do not exist.
What we have done
- Text and background colours chosen to meet contrast requirements, with information never conveyed by colour alone
- Full keyboard navigation, with visible focus outlines on every interactive element
- Semantic headings and landmarks so screen readers can navigate the page structure
- Form fields with associated labels, and error messages in text rather than colour
- Animations, including the explainer and the statutory counter, respect the reduced-motion setting in your operating system and stop if it is enabled
- The site reflows to a single column on small screens without horizontal scrolling, and text can be enlarged to 200% without loss of content
- No content that flashes, and no automatic audio
Known limitations
- The comparison table scrolls sideways on narrow screens. The same information is available in plain text on request.
- Complex figures in the ledger scan output are presented as tables rather than charts precisely so they can be read aloud, but the density may still be difficult; we will provide any output as a plain summary if you ask.
- We have not yet completed a formal independent audit. It is planned, and this page will be updated with the result and the date.
Alternative formats
We will provide anything on this site, and any letter or statement we send, in large print, plain text, or as an audio explanation, at no charge. If a particular contact channel is difficult for you, tell us and we will use another. Debtors can ask us to communicate in one channel only and we will honour that within one working day.
Telling us about a problem
If something on this site does not work for you, email hello@clearline.co.uk with the page and what happened. We aim to reply within five working days and to fix accessibility faults ahead of other work. If you are not satisfied with our response, our complaints procedure applies, and you may also contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service.
