Clearline Technologies Ltd collects overdue invoices between businesses, on behalf of the business named in our texts, letters and emails. This page explains what we text about, where we get the mobile number, when we text and how to stop texts.
We text about one thing: an overdue invoice that a business has asked us to collect. A text from us will tell you that our letter or email about the account has been sent and how to respond, remind you that an agreed instalment is due, confirm a payment, or answer a message you sent us. We do not send marketing or promotional texts.
Every text names the business we act for and our reference for the account, and gives our secure payment page and a way to reply. You can reply to the text to ask a question, raise a dispute, propose a payment plan or ask us to call you.
Clearline for Brackenfield Joinery: your account, ref CL-SAMPLE, has been passed to us to collect. Pay, set up a plan or raise a query at clearline.co.uk/pay?ref=CL-SAMPLE or reply to this text.
An example. A real text names the business you owe and your account reference.
We text a mobile number only if your business gave it for messages about the account. Usually that is to the business you owe, for example on an account application, on an order, or as the accounts contact in their records. It can also be to us, by email, by text or on a call.
Before any text is sent, the business we act for confirms in our client portal that the mobile was given for messages about the account. Without that confirmation, our system sends no texts at all. The confirmation they tick reads:
This mobile was given to us, or to you, for messages about the account. Without this, no texts are sent.
On our automated calls about an account, once you confirm you deal with the business's accounts, you hear: "To receive a secure payment link by text message, press 1." Pressing 1 asks for that one text. It goes only to the mobile we called, and the account record notes that it was requested on the call.
A number that has asked us to stop texting is never texted again, whatever the portal says.
Texts go Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 6pm UK time, and never at weekends. We send no more than two texts to an account in any seven days. These limits are set in our system, not left to anyone's judgment, and they sit alongside our limits for emails, calls and letters, which are set out in our information for debtors.
Reply STOP to any text from us and we will not text that number again. You will get one reply confirming it. STOP, END, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL and QUIT all work. You can also ask us to stop texting by emailing hello@clearline.co.uk or calling 0161 524 8990.
Stopping texts does not close the account. The balance is still due, and we will continue to write to you by letter and email about it.
